
Follow these instructions and you'll have your very own traceable QR Code linked to your mobile website in a matter of minutes.
Step 1 - Create your profile
Click on register on the main menu and provide the required registration details.
Step 2 - Install a 2D code reader
If you have a Nokia N93, N93i, N95 or E90 you can skip this section as the mobile phones already have the necessary software installed.
Use the QR Code resource menu and select one of the websites to download the 2D code reader. Each of these providers offer different variations so its down to personal taste. You can also download an Excel file containing over 1000 supported phones and the corresponding website to download your QR code reader (http://mlearning.edublogs.org/files/2007/11/qrcodesoftware.xls)
Step 3 - Create your own mobile website (optional)
Point your browser at your free mobile web site ) and create your own mobile web site.
Step 4 - Update your profile
Select the My Profile option from the User menu and select edit .. update your profile option. Add your wink site address and click update (or point to another site).
Remember that people scanning your QR code will be directed to your nominated website so try to point to a website designed for mobile phones as normal websites consume a lot of bandwidth. There is no fee for providing this redirection service but the mobile user will be charged their normal fees by their operator.
Step 5 - Have fun (mandatory)
Now you have your own personalised QRMe QR Code you can start having fun with it. We'll be creating an ideas section over the coming weeks but for the time being why not try one of these :-
Send a message
Copy your QR Code (right-click on your QRMe QR Code and choose Save as) into an email and send it to one of your mates telling them its a message. Include a link to this website so they can download the software for their phone and point your profile to a web page on your winksite.
Create your own personalised gift
Create a personalised birthday card on your PC and include your QR code in the design and change your profile to point to a an e-card provider.
Mug fun
Get a mug printed with your QR code on and send it to a mate. Update your profile monthly to point it to your favorite new website. Ask him to scan it once a month.
Get shirty
Print your QR code on a T shirt with and promote your website.or ebay auctions.
Business
Include your QR code in your shop window and tease passers by. Update your profile to point to your 'About us Page'.
